Bill Maher’s “Religulous”
Posted By SkyGirl on November 12, 2008
You can’t talk about “dreams” without talking about your spiritual beliefs because let’s face it, they are connected. Right? I mean, even if you don’t believe your dream is a spiritual quest, at some point the two lines of thought will intersect. And so even though I am a dreamer and even though I have very strong spiritual beliefs, I am very against religion becoming any part of our government. We can’t have religion in our government because whose religion will rule? So see? Religion HAS to be separate from politics so that everyone’s beliefs – or lack of belief – is respected. Respect for everyone’s differences is a very important topic to me. If we want to manifest and protect the intention of the United States Constitution we must insure that we not play favorites. It is written, “…Liberty and Justice for ALL” It doesn’t say “Liberty and Justice for Christians“. Or “Liberty and Justice for Muslims“. It says FOR ALL. And the only way to remotely achieve that is to keep religion out of politics.
I just saw the documentary, “Religulous” tonight after work and I blogged about it on my other site: LisaMurray.com. Have you seen the movie? What are your thoughts? Do you question your religious beliefs? I urge everyone to see this movie. Questioning stuff never hurt anything – NOT questioning stuff has – especially when it comes to religion and politics. GO SEE RELIGULOUS!! Read my blog and post your comment.
